Ingredients

¾ cup unsifted flour
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
(5 tablespoons) butter
¾ cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 12-ounce package
(2 cups) chocolate chips, divided use
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
½ cup chopped walnuts

Step-By-Step Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
2. In a small saucepan, combine the butter, sugar and water. Bring just to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add in 6 ounces (1 cup) chocolate chips. And the vanilla extract. Stir until all the chips melt and the mixture is smooth.
3. Transfer to a large mixing bowl. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually blend in the flour mixture. Mix until smooth. Stir in remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips and walnuts. Spread batter evenly into a well-greased 9-inch square baking pan.
4. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
