Vouchers and coupons can be extremely helpful when it comes to buying products online and in-store if you are looking to save money. Not only does it give you ideas of new products and foods to buy you never would without a voucher, it also allows you a cheap alternative and great deals. Vouchers have become a massive part of shopping with not only students looking to save some money. With no need to carry the vouchers, just grab a code online, you could be making significant savings. Being smart with your coupons and being a savvy shopper can mean you can save hundreds of pounds every month, depending on what you are buying.

Where to get Coupons and Vouchers from

Printable money off Vouchers online:

You might notice that quite a lot of the time you will come across printable money off vouchers or free food vouchers on certain discount sites and specific supermarket sites. They usually require you to just enter some quick details (name and email address) and then they will make the voucher/coupon available to be downloaded or they will email you your discount voucher to print off. Many of these types of vouchers can be time limited and can prove very popular so they can in some instances all get snapped up very quickly.

Money off Vouchers on food you have bought:

Be sure to check the packaging of any food or items you buy as you may find that there is a money off coupon attached to them somewhere where you can get a free product or money off next time you purchase this product. If it is a product that you regularly buy then be sure to use the voucher. Don’t get pulled into spending money on something just for the sake of it, even if it is reduced as this is not always good and sees you spending more money on a product you may not actually like or use just for the sake of it!

Magazines and Newspapers:

Many magazines and newspapers will have coupons inside that can be cut out and redeemed against certain products so keep your eyes peeled when flicking through any of these. Also, supermarkets quite often produce their own magazines that are free to pick up in store, they quite often contain recipes and various articles along with vouchers for money off items that they sell. Scan through these for any that are relevant to you.

2 eggs
50 ml milk
1 slice ham
1/2 stalk green onion
5 ml margarine
50 ml cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Step 1 – Wash and chop green onion.
Step 2 - Wash and slice ham.
Step 3 - In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, ham, milk, onion, salt and pepper. Beat well.
Step 4 - Heat skillet on medium and melt margarine.
Step 6 - When eggs are set but the top is still moist, sprinkle ¾ of the cheese over it.
Step 7 – Fold one edge of the omelette over the cheese, then sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
Step 8 – Slide omelette onto the plate and cut into portions.

Step 2 – Add bacon bits and enough water to cover the vegetables leave to simmer until everything has softened and then mash everything up. If you are not using a slow cooker putting in an oven at a low heat may be a good idea. You could also roast the vegetable first as well.
Step 3 – Season to taste with salt and pepper

125ml sour cream

50g shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese, divided

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 220C/Gas Mark 7.

Step 2 – Set the potatoes directly on the rack in the centre of the oven and bake until easily pierced with a fork, about 1 hour. Remove from the oven and turn the heat down to 200C/Gas Mark 6.

Step 3 – Cut a slit in the top of the potatoes and carefully scoop out the flesh into a bowl, leaving the shells intact. Mash the potato lightly with a fork. Add the butter, sour cream, and 35g of the cheese, and salt and pepper to taste. Refill the shells with the potato mixture mounding it slightly.

Step 4 – Set the potatoes on a baking sheet, and bake until heated through, about 15 to 20 minutes. Sprinkle the tops with the remaining cheese and bake until melted, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately.

6 . Mushroom risotto

Ingredients you might need -

1 tbsp dried porcini mushrooms

2 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

225g/8oz chestnut mushrooms, sliced

25g/1oz butter

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Freshly grated parmesan, to serve

Step 1 - Soak the porcini mushrooms in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain well. Heat the oil in a large, heavy based saucepan and add the onion and garlic. Fry over a gentle heat for 2-3 minutes, until softened. Add the chestnut mushrooms and fry for a further 2-3 minutes, until browned.
Step 2 - Stir in the rice and coat in the oil. Pour in the wine and simmer, stirring, until the liquid has been absorbed. Add a ladleful of the stock and simmer, stirring again, until the liquid has been absorbed. Continue adding the stock in this way, until all the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is plump and tender.
Step 3 - Roughly chop the soaked porcini mushrooms and stir into the risotto, along with the parsley, butter and salt and pepper. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan.

Step 2 - Pour the oil into the bottom of a baking dish, and arrange the sausages over it in a single layer. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven.

Step 3 - Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs and half of the milk until smooth. Gradually mix in the rest of the milk until a smooth batter is achieved. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 4 – Remove the sausages from the oven, and ladle the batter over them until the sausages are 3/4 covered. Return to the oven, and bake for 35 minutes, or until the centre is risen and browned. Don’t worry if the underside seems slightly soft, as this is normal.

4 . Boiled egg

Step 2 - Pre-heat the grill for 5 mins. When heated, shape the burger mixture into 4 circular blobs (try and compress these tightly as you don’t want the burgers falling appart in the oven) and place on the rack under the grill near the top of the oven.
Step 3 - Grill for 3 mins on this side, then turn the burgers over and cook for 2 more mins
Step 4 - Check the burgers are cooked to the middle by cutting into one and see if it is still pink. If it is then grill for another min or so until it looks ready.

See top right.

Step 2: Chop the vegetables

De-seed the 3 different coloured peppers. Thinly slice them and the onions and put them aside on a plate.

Step 3: Prepare the chicken

Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips, about 3cm long.

Step 4: Make the marinade

Grate the rind of one of the limes into a bowl then squeeze the juice from both. Into this, add the caster sugar, oregano, cayenne, cinnamon and season with salt and pepper. Mix together well.

Step 5: Marinate the chicken

Add the chicken strips and mix until all the pieces are coated. Set aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes – however, the longer you can leave it, the more the juices will soak in.

Step 6: Cook the chicken

Heat the oil in the pan or griddle over a high temperature until smoking hot. Add the chicken and the marinade and cook until tender. This will take approximately 4-5 minutes.

1 . Spaghetti Bolognese

Salt

Ground Black Pepper

Spaghetti

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over a medium heat for 1 minute. Add the Everyday Value onions with a little salt and sweat them for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Increase the heat and add the Everyday Value mince, browning well and stirring to break the meat up. Once browned, stir in the chopped Everyday Value tomatoes, then the Everyday Value stock and Everyday Value red wine and bring to the boil. The sauce will look quite thin at this point but it will thicken as it reduces.

Reduce the heat to a simmer and add the bay leaf. Cook for 45-50 minutes uncovered until the sauce has thickened, making sure to stir occasionally.

Once the sauce is ready, adjust the seasoning and keep warm. Cook the Everyday Value spaghetti in a large saucepan of boiling salted water according to packet instructions until ‘al dente’; usually 8-10 minutes. Drain and toss well with the sauce.

Whether you’re looking to do something a bit different during your summer holidays or perhaps trying to figure out what you’re going to do after graduation now is a great time to start considering your options.

Teaching English abroad is fast-becoming one of the most popular ways for students to boost their CV, get paid AND see a bit of the world whilst they’re at it. Fancy a new life this summer? Here’s a sneak preview into the world of TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and three of the most popular destinations for graduates and students alike!

The 3 Most Popular Destinations to Teach English Abroad

China

There is a demand for English teachers all around the world but especially in China as employers are looking for English teachers to teach all age groups – from 2 year olds to businessmen. If you’re looking for instant employability, an adventure, a cultural awakening and some of the most rewarding months of your life, then China is the one for you.

How much can you earn there? The average first-time English teacher’s wage in China is around 6,000 – 10,000 RMB a month. After the conversion, this might not sound like a lot of money by Western standards (sorry if you’ve been under the impression that you can become an overnight millionaire teaching English abroad!) – But as the cost of living in China is extremely cheap you’ll find that you’ll be able to live surprisingly comfortably on your TEFL salary. For example, you’ll be able to snap up a plateful of the best dumplings you’ve ever tasted for around 30p!

TEFL employers in China more often than not will also provide your accommodation and sometimes your meals too – so when you’re looking for teaching jobs abroad, make sure to look out for these perks!

Japan

Still a student? Put this one in the pipeline for after graduation! To teach English in Japan you’ll need a degree in order to get a visa but once you’re there…well you’re only in one of the most lusted-after travel destinations on the planet!

Japan draws tourists from all over the world but living there is a whole different experience entirely! Imagine what it would be like to wake up every day in one of the most technologically advanced city in the world…Tokyo? Or perhaps discovering beautiful Kyoto and losing yourself in Japan’s remarkable traditions? But what’s it like to live there though? It’s no secret that Japan is considered an expensive country BUT on a TEFL teacher’s wage where can expect to earn up to £2000 a month (!) you’ll find that living there isn’t as expensive as you’d first thought.

Rule of thumb: Act like a local – shop where they shop & eat what they eat and you’ll be fine.

Spain

If you’re perhaps looking for something a bit closer to home for the first time you move abroad – living in Europe is a great option. Not only can EU citizens live and work anywhere in the EU but also get European weather on your side too! (Enough of the rain already!)

Spain is one of the most popular TEFL destinations in Europe – competition is tough so it helps to have a degree and a TEFL certificate on your side too to help put you at the top of the pack. There are plenty of different teaching opportunities in Spain – anything from private tutoring, teaching in primary schools, business English and another great short-term option are summer camps.

If you’re new to teaching, then teaching English at a summer camp is a great starting point and a great way to spend University holidays – a place to dip your toes in before taking the plunge! Summer camps can be anything from 2 weeks to 2 months – accommodation and meals are often included in the pay packet, meaning all you have to bring is bundles of enthusiasm!

Last year, The Sun Newspaper compiled a list of the top Universities in order of their nightlife and confirmed what many students already would have said was the number 1. They published the results of an independent study that reinforces Newcastle’s legendary nightlife not only as a student but a general evening out. So do you wish to know what the other 9 are behind Newcastle? Not that you would be picking your University by Nightlife (Maybe.) -

It is not surprising that there is only one University from the London region due to the price and costs of a night out and the lack of proper student venues. That isn’t the case the further up the country you go with 8 Universities in the top 10 ranked highest for it’s great student nightlife all above the Leeds/Manchester University Region.

Included in the top 3 spots are both Newcastle based universities; Northumbria University lays claim to the top no.1 spot with Newcastle University rounding off the top 3.

Those youngsters who are eager to get a good all-round experience from University since the cap on tuition fees was raised to £9,000 a year. Which? University ranks unis on courses, sport, costs, political scene and social life — based on student ratings.

Should your university be on this list? Which Uni needs to be in 2013′s top 10 and why? Give us a few pics.

Top Summer Cocktails

Summer is nearly upon us once again – some of you around the globe may already be basking in the sunshine but us unfortunate souls in the United Kingdom have endured a long winter and some very cold days. So, what better thing is there to do than to sit in the garden or in a beer garden with a refreshing alcoholic beverage? Here we have compiled quite a few drinks, cocktails and refreshing drinks to have under the sun.

Watermelon Vodka Cocktails

2 ounces vodka

2-inch slice of lime peel, not including white pith

4 to 5 cubes of seeded watermelon

Seltzer water

Crushed ice

Make it by mixing together the lime and watermelon in a cocktail shaker. Next, add the vodka, along with ice. Give it a quick and hard shake. Next, strain into a highball glass and top with seltzer water. You can vary the mix by adding some cucumber, mint and lime or blueberries, mint and lime all for an equally fruity tasting drink.

Strawberry-Banana Daiquiri

2 ounces rum

1 to 2 teaspoons simple syrup

Juice from 1/2 of lime

2 ounces strawberries

2-inch section of banana, diced

To make the Strawberry-Banana Daiquiri place all the ingredients into a blender and puree until well mixed. Pour into a cocktail glass. A few sliced strawberries and banana will make a nice garnish.

Raspberry Cordial

500g raspberries

500g caster sugar

3 tbsp red wine vinegar

Make the Raspberry Cordial by placing the raspberries in a pan with the sugar and vinegar. Mush together over a low heat for 10 mins until smooth and syrupy. Rub through a sieve into a clean pan. Tip the seeds from the sieve into a bowl and stir in 300ml water, then sieve again to remove the last of the pulp from seeds. Pour the liquid into the pan with the sieved pulp, stir well and boil for 1 min. Pour into small sterilised bottles and seal.

Apple Martini

1 part of absolut Vodka

1 part of DeKuper Sour apple Pucker Schnapps

1 part of apple juice

Pour all of the ingredients into a shaker, shake well and then strain into a Martini glass.

Cosmopolitan

1 part of vodka

1/2 oz of triple sec

1/2 oz of lime juice

1/2 oz of cranberry juice

Shake all ingredients in a shaker and then strain into a martini glass. garnish with a lime wedge.

Hurricane

2 ounces light rum

1 ounce dark rum

1 ounce triple sec

1 ounce grapefruit juice

1 ounce pineapple juice

Splash of grenadine

Put all ingredients into a hurricane glass in the order given for a colorful presentation. Finish with a squeeze of lime.

Citrus Iced Tea

6 ordinary tea bags

2 tbsp caster sugar

10 sprigs mint

300ml fresh orange juice

juice 1 lime

1⁄2 sliced orange , mint leaves and ice to serve

To make the Citrus Iced Tea, make the tea with 1.2 litres water and the sugar. Add mint to the pot and infuse for 10 mins. Strain and cool. Pour the mix into a jug, stir in the juices and serve with orange slices, mint and add plenty of ice.

JagerBomb

The traditional way to drink a Jagerbomb is is to drop a shot of Jagermeister into a glass of Red bull or other energy drinks, and then drink it quickly. Some have adapted it to just mixing the two together in a rocks glass, and then drinking.

1 oz Jagermeister

6 ozs of Red Bull, or any preferred energy drink

Irish Car Bomb

3/4 pint of Guinness Stout Beer

1/2 shot of Irish Cream, preferably Bailey’s

1/2 shot Jameson Whiskey

To make the irish car bomb – add the Irish cream and whiskey into a shot glass, layering the Cream on the bottom. Pour the beer into a glass 3/4 of the way and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the beer, consume the drink quickly, before it curdles.

What is Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury Festival is held annually and is a performing arts festival which takes place near Pilton in Somerset, England. The festival is best known for its contemporary music, but also for dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret and other arts.

Looking back to the first of the festivals in the 1970s were influenced by hippie ethics and a free festival movement. The festival retains vestiges of this tradition such as the Green Fields area which includes the Green Futures and Healing Field – it is a very laid back festival which can pack a punch in return. After the 1970s era, the festival took place almost every year and grew in size, with the number of attendees sometimes being swollen by gate-crashers.

Glastonbury has a nature different to other festivals in the UK in regards to it’s size and nature. Held over three or four days the festival is out in the open air, with performers, crew and paying festival goers staying in tents, caravans and motorhomes, which leaves much anticipation down to the weather. It is now attended by over 125,000 people which as you can imagine require’s extensive infrastructure in terms of security, transport, water and electricity supply. The majority of staff are volunteers, helping the festival to raise millions of pounds for good causes.
